Here’s a little teaser of what’s to come, I should have time to do a short write up on it tomorrow (#touringthursday?) but for now, I’m just going to sit here and be excited and try to do my homework. And not be able to drive it. Grrrr.

Interior looks great. Red seats made me think M for some reason, I don’t think standard E46's got them.

Those seats. They look so comfortable.

I think it’s just about as “M” as it can get for a 325I Sport Wagon, it’s got slotted and drilled rotors and upgraded calipers as well, it stops amazingly well. Not sure if they’re from a zhp or an M3 but they’re not stock.. It also has a front strut tower brace, header+exhaust w/cat (going for emissions this weekend so hopefully that goes well, no CEL so fingers are crossed) and an extra set of M-Sport wheels with new G-force BFG’s on it. Can’t wait for the next wagon train!!

They’re somehow wayyy more comfortable than the la-z-boy recliners my Escalade has, and they’re manually adjustable too, so there’s no electronic trickery that’ll ever break.

Are those the stock factory seats? I was looking at motorsport seats that didn’t need harnesses and I don’t love all of them. Maybe I can get some of those in black. What year?

E46 Sport Seats, yeah. So not electric huh, that’s good.

2001 was the only year for the red leather. Black shouldn’t be too hard to find you just have to find an M3 or a car with the ZHP/MT2 package

Yeah I googled it and there is a lot. I haven’t decided on which seats but if they are comfortable I might use them. All the Zs I see at classic rallies have the seats swapped out with seats better suited for spirited driving. But I also want some comfort, my wife hates my factory seats.

Ok, so for your Z I would probably suggest a set of recaros or bmw sport seats from ~80's/90's depending on what you can find. Like these. These are bitchin, and they would go with your car. Just gotta do some digging but recaro stuff is pretty much always bang-on for comfortableness

I have BFGs on my M5 and I like them. They don’t seem quite as sticky in summer as the Pilot SSs on my wife’s M3 but the BFGs seem to wear better and move water better. Just my anecdotal observations, both good tires. Also I love the red interior.

Say what you will about BMWs but they have great seats. And to me that can make up for a lot. Like a whiplash inducing SMG transmission, for example.

Yeah maybe, I’ve looked at Bride etc.. too. I saw these E21 seats in a Z. Look more vintage. Not sure yet. The sport Z seat reproductions are super expensive in Japan.
